Draft Local Heritage List Consultation Open
Surrey Heath Borough Council is asking people to respond to its updated draft list of local heritage assets (also known as a ‘Local List’).
The Council has been working in partnership with Surrey County Council to develop the list, which includes buildings, structures, features, and spaces that are locally significant and add to the cultural heritage and sense of place of the Borough.
An initial consultation was undertaken in Autumn 2021 seeking nominations for inclusion on the updated list.

Traffic & Infrastructure
Traffic and Infrastructure issues in the village - Councillor Pat Lewis will be leading a new and wider group to pull together ideas for reducing / slowing traffic through the village. Everyone needs to get involved if we are to improve the traffic issues in Windlesham. Thank you Pat.
Cemetery Plan
The upkeep of the Cemetery with the replanting of trees and hedges is one of the top priorities of our newly elected Windlesham Village Committee and a plan is currently being prepared to return this beautiful, peaceful place to its former glory.
The Local plan
The new “Draft” Local Plan from Surrey Heath Borough Council is very much worth a read for everyone in Windlesham if you can go the distance. It is presented in a way that is complex and complicated to read, perhaps intentionally so. It is a deep dig to get down to the truth but once there it really is shocking to understand how
we have been and are still being misled.

“I don't live in Windlesham but do live in the parish and work in Windlesham. This green belt assessment by the council is a disgrace. It's also wrecking Bagshot and already new applications for 135 houses and the local plan is still supposed to be a draft! "

“I love Windlesham Cemetery it used to be so well kept and now needs lots of restoration of the paths and hedges. There are too many benches now. The Church path from Kennel Lane needs lots of maintenance.

"At last, the Cemetery is going to be looked after by our dedicated Village Committee. There is a lot of Valuable heritage in the Cemetery. The Lutyens designed Tomb is just one example that needs to be restored please".
