Righting the Wrongs of a Divided Village

In 2017 the Boundaries Commission took steps  to review the Borough Ward of Windlesham. Consequently Windlesham was divided. Part of the Village was added to Bagshot and the remaining part was added to a distant Chobham Ward.

Windlesham was the only Village in Surrey Heath to be split which has removed not only our sense of place and wellbeing but has removed our already frail democratic standing.

This has had serious consequences for our Village and could have been avoided if "We" had been properly consulted.

Cllr Richard Wilson is taking steps to right this wrong and needs the support of the entire community to restore our proper place and standing in the Borough.

Following a unanimous decision by Borough Councillors at Surrey Heath the Boundaries Commission were asked to review the position but they have rejected the request.

There is an online petition which needs the support of everyone who would like to see our Village restored to its former status.

You can sign the petition HERE

Heathpark Wood

From Windlesham.life

We will all by now probably be aware of the appeal decision at Heathpark Wood in Woodlands Lane Windlesham and the subsequent full planning application substantially approved by Surrey Heath Borough Council (SHBC). The result of the appeal was conditional upon the developer meeting 32 conditions set down and agreed between the parties to the appeal in order to achieve the appeal decision in the developer's favour..........

So what's going wrong ?

And don't forget those consultations

The current set of consultations ranging from a Windlesham Neighbourhood Plan review, through traffic and infrastructure and the major threat to our village green belt secreted into the new Draft Local Plan consultation are serious planning matters for our community and our village.

Everyone needs to be involved in making these decisions.

 Let's Keep Windlesham like this.

“I didn't know all of this was going on, we must keep an eye on all of this and make sure we are not being had - again.”
Peter
“What a shame that care home was given permission in the first place, so much for property developers assurances when they want something. Pity about all of those lorries going up and down Chertsey Road again.”
Julie
