Windlesham. Life
In 1946 a public meeting was held during which it was decided to raise funds to buy a 9.8 acre piece of land from Admiral Cochrane of Windlesham House as a living memorial to those from the village who had lost their lives in the two World Wars.
Here you can link to and search war grave records not just for Windlesham but other villages, counties and countries across the world covering World War I and World War II.
There are 12 known graves in Windlesham Cemetery from these two conflicts.
This link will take you to the Roll of Honour page for Windlesham. It was established and researched by Jim Robbens a long time resident of Windlesham Village together with his late wife Marianne. The main site covers many other villages in the UK.
The pages are dedicated to Marianne
We have made a personal donation to Roll of Honour in recognition of all of the amazing work they do in keeping these memories alive for past and future generations and for allowing us to include this link for everyone's interest.
Thank you Jim and Marianne
The Roll of Honour site has been further updated by Jim in December 2022
